“Kick, Snare, Tap”
Making Moves Dance Festival
Jamaica Performing Arts Center, Queens, NY"Kick, Snare, Tap" is a play on the term "Kick, Snare, Hat", which refers to a minimal setup of the drums that consists of only a bass (kick) drum, snare drum, and hi-hat. This work is a collaboration between tap dancers and a drummer who is playing those three elements of the drum set. The work is divided into 4 sections and each element of the drum set inspires the movement and music by the tap dancers.
